The impact my brace has had has been life changing.
I was physically and emotionally exhausted, in constant pain and muscle spasm and losing the function of my dominant arm. Daily living activities were challenging and I was relying on painkillers and sports tape to get me through my days. The active and fulfilling life I was used to was slipping away…. then I found the SpineCor Pain Relief Back Brace.
Since being fitted with my brace my life is once again rich, I have less pain, more range of movement, better posture, a more positive body image and my muscular spasm is under control. I work full time (something I thought I may have to give up) and participate in the activities I love; including horse riding, Pilates, running and dancing. I rarely take a painkiller; I am happier and feel the future is brighter. It’s not entirely been plain sailing, but the benefits have far outweighed the drawbacks being wrapped in elastic brings! I can’t thank my SpineCor brace and the professional team enough for the quality of life I have regained. My only regret is that I didn’t make contact with them sooner!

I have idiopathic scoliosis and wore the Milwaukee brace for two years as a young teen. The scoliosis has progressed over time and is now 56 degrees. I am now 48 years old and a physician practicing full time radiology. I do remain active and exercise regularly.
I get moderate back pain after working all day sitting at my computer reading films.
After consultation with an Orthopedist specializing in scoliosis surgery in New York, I was told that I should exercise and remain active, and that I was not a surgical candidate. I subsequently “found” the SpineCor brace on the internet, and contacted the inventors, Dr. Charles Rivard and Dr. Christine Coillard at Ste. Justine Children’s Hospital in Montreal. They were helpful and professional, and kindly referred me to Dr. Louise Marcotte, a Chiropractor specializing in postural problems and with vast experience in treating adult scoliosis patients with the SpineCor Pain Relief brace.
After being fitted with the brace I instantly had improved posture, and my back pain disappeared. My family noticed my improved posture, and I was in fact almost an inch taller. I wear the brace every day while working at my computer. I have no back pain whilst wearing the brace and the improvements in posture are quantifiable.
I am encouraged that I am able to perform my work duties without debilitating pain, due to the SpineCor brace. After my first weekend of call, I knew that the brace had already paid for itself.
I strongly urge adult scoliotic patients to consider the SpineCor Pain Relief brace as a long term conservative therapy in pain and postural management. The results are worth the effort. I am very thankful to Dr. Marcotte for her expertise, guidance and insight into this chronic and often debilitating disease. I also commend and thank the inventors Drs Rivard and Coillard, for their foresight, research and innovation.
I was diagnosed with scoliosis when I was 19 (about 15-18 degrees curvature at that time). I am 64 years old now. The doctor then advised me that there was no treatment for this type of condition, not even a brace could help as my bones are already mature. Hence, I had to accept it and learn to live with the defect. He also added that it might progress as I get older.
About 7 years ago I started having some back pain, especially in the afternoon, and having difficulty in breathing while lying down in a certain way. It was also interfering with some of my physical activities. Another X-ray of my spine was taken – this time the curvature was over 45 degrees.
My first encounter with the SpineCor Pain Relief Brace was apprehensive but hopeful. I saw an article about the brace in the Maclean magazine in late 2007 and most of the users interviewed were giving the SpineCor brace kudos and thumbs up.
After being fitted with the SpineCor Pain Relief brace I noticed that the trip back home was better than expected and I did not suffer any back pains. I felt excited about the brace. For the next few days I learned how to take off and put on the brace, which was a tedious learning curve at first until I was comfortable with the process.
A change in the curvature was noted at the first review and I noticed better breathing, less tiredness during long travels and improved posture.
It has been nine months since I was fitted with the brace and my family and friends have noticed a big difference in my posture with my shoulders being more aligned. The hump on my back is also less pronounced and the shoulder blade (which before was protruding) seems to have receded.
As for me, activities where I tired easily are now more enjoyable and the nagging back pains that accompany these physical activities are gone.
The brace has become an important part of me, like a panacea that relieves my uneasiness and back pains. I look forward to it making further improvements to my scoliosis, giving me a chance to live a pain-free life.
I have had my SpineCor Pain Relief brace for over two years and I am extremely pleased with the results. I have a considerable scoliosis, and after six months of wearing it for 20 to 24 hours a day, my curve was reduced by 50%. I stopped wearing it a few months later because I got pregnant. I was also very happy to wear it again a few months after delivery. Now I wear it for an average of three full days per week while receiving regular chiropractic adjustments.
Before having my brace, I was very concerned about my health and my posture deteriorated over time without being able to do anything about it. Now I am reassured to know that I am helping my quality of life in the long term without too much effort. In fact, the brace became like a second skin after a while. I admit, however, that the first weeks were difficult for me; I felt uncomfortable and I did not always know how to hide it under my clothes. But now, it is quite natural for me to wear it.
The issue of pain was resolved instantly. As soon as I put the brace on, it disappears completely, and the pain is also reduced when I do not wear it.
The brace offers incredible support. It greatly improves my posture – and therefore my general appearance – while wearing and even after.
I definitely recommend the SpineCor Pain Relief brace to all those who have scoliosis or postural disorders.
I am a 67 year old female who was fitted with the SpineCor Pain Relief brace in July 2008. I have had scoliosis since my early teens and pain of various levels all my life. After menopause, the pain, as well as the curve itself, increased significantly to the point of not being able to stand for more than 15 minutes at a time without having to sit for 10 or 15 minutes before carrying on. I also lost 3 inches in height.
After I was fitted with the brace the pain reduced after 1 month by 90 %, and has remained at this level or even better ever since. I can stand for indefinite periods of time while cooking for instance.
After 3 months my height increased by 1 inch, which was a great surprise to me, given my age, etc. This brace has increased my quality of life to the point at which if I had found it necessary I would have been willing to mortgage my home to pay for it.
Thanks to Dr. Charles Hilaire Rivard and Dre. Christine Coillard for persevering the many years they did to develop this brace and to my SpineCor brace provider for the excellent patient service she provided to me.
I have been nothing short of amazed at the changes in my back since starting to wear the SpineCor Pain Relief brace.
Five years ago I was experiencing so much back pain that I had to be pushed around in a wheelchair any time I wanted to “walk” around for more than 5-10 minutes. With physiotherapy, my pain level decreased a certain amount before plateauing.
The SpineCor brace has really helped to strengthen my muscles, improve my posture, and bring my pain level to zero most days. I would highly recommend this brace to anyone – at any age – who has scoliosis and wants to manage pain and improve back health.
Chronic back pain has hindered my life since I was ten years old. I had to take many days off of school because I could barely stand after playing a game of hockey or golf. My self esteem was shattered when others would call me “hunchback” and other hurtful names. I consulted many Doctors and specialists hoping for some relief, but they all concluded that I had no defect in my spine other then poor posture. Finally when I was eighteen I’d had enough.
An orthopedic surgeon diagnosed me with a slight case of scoliosis and a hyper kyphosis in my upper thoracic region of my spine. He told me that the only cure for the problem was to fuse two metal rods to my spine. After agreeing to go through this painstaking procedure, I was told that my case “was not serious enough” for this type of surgery. I had no other option but to wait until it got worse.
Finally, I heard about the SpineCor Pain Relief brace which I have been wearing for approximately three months now, and the change is unbelievable. The second I put it on my back pain is literally gone. I can’t even remember the last time my back hasn’t hurt. I also used to have nose bleeds constantly, and ever since I’ve worn the brace I haven’t had a single one. The brace keeps my back straight as a pin all day, and my family swears I’m at least two inches taller. It really is a miracle.
This brace is simple to put on in the morning and completely un-noticeable during the day. Wearing the brace while playing sports helps with all my pain during and after. I am an avid golfer, and to be honest wearing the brace while playing golf has completely eliminated my slice! I’m driving the ball straighter than ever, thanks to this brace.
Wearing this brace improves my breathing, my self confidence and provides me with a better quality of life. I can do things now that I never thought I would be able to. This brace is nothing short of revolutionary for cases like mine.
My name is James. I am 69 years old and will celebrate my 70th birthday in June. I have had adolescent idiopathic scoliosis for many years. In recent years the scoliosis has worsened and caused a loss of six inches in height. Standing for five minutes would cause severe pain and walking more than one hundred yards caused pain to the point where sitting and resting was required. Scoliosis and the subsequent loss in height has caused compression of my internal organs. Because of this compression some heart problems have developed and I have been under the care of a cardiac specialist.
I have been wearing the SpineCor Brace System for seven months now. During this time my quality of life has improved greatly. I recently had a stress test for my heart which I passed with flying colours. The cardiac specialist has turned my care back to my family doctor.
I can now stand for much longer periods of time and walk for virtually unlimited distances without noticeable pain. I am not pain free, but the pain is now tolerable at all times and exercise is now possible.
Before I met my brace provider I had been offered nothing. I had been told that because of my age there was nothing for my condition and I would just have to “deal” with it as best as I could. The excruciating pain made it difficult for me to travel because of the walking required. I was becoming quite depressed with my quality of life. The SpineCor Brace System has improved my life immensely. It is quite a simple system once one gets used to it. It is not uncomfortable to wear. I am truly grateful to my brace provider and to the SpineCor Brace and I would recommend this form of treatment to anyone suffering from adolescent idiopathic scoliosis. For me it has been a miracle.
